    Wanted to buy: 130

    Hi All,

Had a couple of Toyota driving mates over today and took them to lunch with wives and kids in the D3. During drive many comments passed back and forth about what car works where etc.

After lunch a flash looking 130 was seen in the carpark. SWMBO has given tentative approval to get rid of her Peugeot 407 and replace it with a 130, she then gets the Disco and I keep the 130.

    A couple of quick questions:
    - Does anyone know of a good vehicle for sale at a good price?
    - Are there any reputable dealers in Brisbane who I could approach/start working with?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Dom

I'm sure the D3 is a good vehicle. However, we have a 407 hdi with 6 speed auto and is just great for power, economy and reliability.

    Brizzy Dealer warning..

Hi. I bought mine from a place I can't name.... He told me a few 'porkies' tho.. The heater had been disconnected and I questioned it. What he didn't tell me was that a little 3 mm hole had been drilled in the back of the header tank to relieve the coolant pressure as the head gasket was on it's way out! We worked that one out 300km south of Brizzie on our way home to Adelaide! Self tapper in the hole fix for the short term! That said, the head gasket didn't really let go untill a few months later! The internet, Carsales, Carfinder and Ebay are all a good start. Just take a mechanic with you, and if by chance you do end up in the place I cant name, speaking to a pom, remind me to him.. It's not been forgotten! Good luck!

Keep an eye on the auctions - Pickles, Manheim etc. You have to be patient though.

D3 is great. The wife can't drive a manual and won't drive to Thredbo in a Defender so I sell the Pug and she gets D3. Lucky me, his'n'hers Landies.
