			What's considered "high" mileage? (D3)

The odometer range of D3's seems to vary substantially, my little survey shows under 10k p.a. at one end and 45k p.a. at the other. Distance travelled in and of itself is not a good indicator of wear and tear (e.g. city vs. country), and I expect a D3 "lifetime" mileage to be well into the 300k++ range, right? (as in: before major work like engine or transmission rebuilds, etc are reasonably common).

But still I ask the question: what's considered "high" for a D3?

					Mine has 240k on it.

I bought it with full service history and the vehicle was also well looked after.

New gearbox fitted at about 120k and this is the only major item I'm aware of that was changed.

She is still going strong and will hopefully continue to do so.

I've reduced the service intervals, now, but I suppose it's like most things. If you look after it, it should last.

Maybe try posting on the UK site, Disco3, plenty of high miler vehicles on there.

It's how you do your k's that matters

I have an August 2007 delivery D3 2.7 that is just nudging 198,000k's, pretty well all long distance bitumen running (sometimes 1600+K'S a day), limited light towing, and not much stop start or off road.
 Country vehicle.
Transmission is sweet as, but planning on doing a 200k transmission service next week, as this appears not to have been done by the dealers who have serviced by the book since new.
Diesels definitely last a lot longer if they run all day without stops; and as long as you service them with oil changes (every 10k), they can log very high hours/kilometers.
 Regards, vbrab
