    New Puma

Just ordered a new Puma here in March / April. They offered me 5 grand as trade on 2000 extreme with 209,000 Ks. so I am going to sell it privately. So what do I ask for it ? The red book says 10 to 11 grand, would it sell at that? I also have a longrange tank of 165 litres that is in good condition. Is that worth pulling out and fitting to the puma, if it fit, or do I sell it with it in and is it worth more then. I have plenty of time to think as I will pull the Bullbar and winch off it as well and sell it as standard. Will probably try to sell it on this site.

I see plenty of TD5 defenders around that era fetching good money well over 11k, that 11k sounds very cheap for one but if your selling it i will offer you 6k just so you get more then trade in value

As for the tank, apparently they Td5 and Puma tanks are the same, i couldnt imagine the tank would change the value of the Td5 much, so swapping it over will probobly save you atleast a grand if you plan on putting in a long range tank. If you dont mind me asking who makes the 165L tank? i havnt seen one that big for a defender from the manufacturers i have been checking out.

    Fuel tank

Cal 145, There are actually 2 tanks, one between the chassis rails that is 127 litres and another smaller one 35 litres, that sits on the right hand side inside the rear quarter panel and under the filler. They are filled from the original filler and are connected by a small tube under the chassis rail protected by a section of plate. They are made by long ranger. Fitted they cost me $1,200 for the large one and $760 for the smaller one. Thanks for the replies.

Agree here as well. Went through the same exercise earlier this year. Had a late '01 Td5 with just over 200k on the clock. A few extras with winch, cargo barrier, lights, etc but got low 20's and had people driving me nuts to break the first deal and sell to them sight unseen.

I would suggest high teens might be closer to the mark depending on condition.
