Bottom door seals

I want to install proper door seals to the bottom of my defender doors after the flood that entered the vehicle when crossing the Durack river,just after the Gibb road was opend. I had anticipated that this would happen so everything on floor level was lifted, just had to open the doors to let it dry out. The new bottom seals are listed at the dealers,but I was looking at door seals from Clarke Rubber.These ones are cut to length and glued into place. The concern I have is will the adhesive let go when the weather hots up. Has anyone tried this solution. My vehicle is fairly waterproof except for the doors and I am sure everyone at some time has tried to waterproof a Defender.

I think the door bottoms are designed to leak.....lets the water out that's leaked past windows, top of the windscreen etc.etc.

Putting a positive spin on the situation....by letting the water in the car is less buoyant so doesn't float off or loose traction when you cross a deep river.

The new Puma's have a revised style of lower door seal. I've fitted these to my Td5, they're better at keeping dust out. I'll find out about water when the wet season comes.......
I got mine from the UK, do a search on here and you'll find a couple of posts about them.

The uprated Puma door seals are available from LR Part No LR029309 for the Front doors and Rear passenger doors are LR029307 and LR029308. They require a couple of extra holes to be drilled in the doors to allow fitting.




Another option are these double lipped seals from Nakatanenga in Germany:

Made a huge difference on my 110, similar to fitting carpet in the back, cheap too

I bought seals from clark rubber and fit it for 4 doors by myself.

I have ordered the Puma ones for the back but will use the Clark Rubber ones for the front.How did you attach them.
