Should be down there tomorrow (as long as the whole place didn't get washed away in the storm this afternoon). But will be in the Pinzgauer rather than a Landie since it is my only exmil vehicle.

Hi all, just wondering who is going to represent the Classic Series Landrover contingent at the Canungra Military Jeep Swap Meet and Field Day held over this weekend.
Check out the link below for more info.
MJCQ - The Military Jeep Club of Queensland
We plan to be there early on Sunday 16th (tomorrow), driving our ex-mil Series 2a.
See you there,

Yes Tim, a big storm cell hit here on the Goldy around 4.30pm. Deluge of rain, strong winds and hail. Earlier this arvo, it certainly was the 'calm before the storm' with the air completely still and the humidity level so high you could cut the air with a knife. The Storm Season has arrived.
Hi all,
this year's Jeep Swap Meet and Field Day was another good event despite the heavy rains, hail and storm conditions on Saturday evening.
When we arrived on the Sunday, the showground site was quite boggy.
A good attenence of ex-military Series Land Rovers (including a couple of 101's), various Jeeps, Dodge, Ford Blitz, Chev, Pinzgauer, Unimog, Motorcycles, and real tough stuff (tracked vehicles). I didn't see the big Kaiser Recovery trucks though. There was various weaponry, and people in authentic mil uniforms. And, of course, tables laden with rare and interesting parts and stuff for sale.
We brought along 'Hector', our restored ex-mil S2A shorty, which ran well on the journey there and back, returning 23.5mpg from it's refurbished Stromberg carby.
Sunday was a VERY hot and humid day and ominous clouds were soon looming again. So we packed up the Landy and headed back to the Gold Coast.
On the way home, I spotted a 4x4 track and we checked it out. We travelled along about 1km until a large fallen tree blocked the path. We shall return, armed with an axe and a drag-chain.
Cheers,
Harry jnr (GCLRO)
p.s: the cream Landrover shorty is ex-navy. It's original light blue paint under the cream.
