Note the checklist is a book. Paper and pencil - hard to beat.

I heard a story that in the early days of Apollo, NASA were concerned that their ballpoint pens wouldn't operate in space, so they developed a special variant of the biro. The Russians faced the same problem and used pencils.

Thanks Sleepy, and I had enough time to send the link to a few relos and mates and then rang them to make sure they got the e-mail in time.

    Thanks again.

Loved waiting for the red ball to go weightless

Yes quite an interesting 10 or so minutes. Takes me back to the apollo days.

Of course now the Shuttle has been mothballed, the Ruskies will take much of the lead. Can't see the Europeans spending too much on Space travel at the moment. Then again, the Chinese may step up in the next few years too.

I picked this up on twitter @NASA
