Impressive but with right tools and time most people probably could

some years ago I heard that he trained like this for rallying, well if he was that good at this he would be rallying wiht teh top names instead of makeing more money from vfilm clips and endorsements....

Ken Block is involved in the WRC (World Rally Championship) and contrary to popular belief, just because he is (very, very) good at what he is doing in the Utube clip does not mean he is the world's best steerer in a rally car. Obviously there is a huge amount of talent required for both and a lot of the skills are common, but I presume KB is paid extremely well to advertise and entertain and IMHO, he does that well.
Rallying is all about getting from point A to point B in the shortest possible time and being sideways in a cloud of tire smoke is not usually the best course of action. Quite entertaining for Joe Public, but not the quickest by a long shot.
It seems strange that when this type of car control video appears, most people (mistakenly) compare it to Rallying. Why not Drifting, Circuit Racing, Autocross or even Motorkhana (Gymkhana which the clip is actually titled).

And as a side note for those who have not tried it (any form of motor sport involving car control AND speed) and think it is easy, get out and have a go. You will learn a **** load about what you and your car can/cannot do and have a ball as well.

    two different things,,
you arent going to die driving into a bog hole--

Learning how your (first) car reacts to wet roads or loose gravel may be the best lesson you ( or your kids) learn in life,,

    The saying goes,,
How do you know how your car reacts when you lose control,
    until you lose control?

Pop is right,, people that join SPORTING car clubs dont crash on the road,,,,

    Having said all that
there are several Ken Block vids in The Parking Lot

ooh, i feel the pain of the disco,
my power steering pump complains like that also, they just aren't good enough to run such oversize tyres.

    as for ken, he's brilliant,
sure he has had a few goes to get it right, but how cool to be able to drive like that?
of course he didn't need to root the wheels and tyres at the end,
    but hey, that's show bizz!

Power steering pump is perfect, been running 37's for 3 years and never even needed to top the fluid up. The noise is a buggered bearing in the alternator.
