and you thought LR parts were expensive

My ignition switch on my Yamaha motor bike stopped working (yes while I was riding it, lucky only 2ks from home) and decided to price one from Yamaha, $325.00, and they do not key it to my original key. Decided against 2nd hand, and searched the web and found a few none oem switches for around $100.00. I did what my father taught me, if it doesn't work, take it apart. After cleaning it up, and a bit of scraping with the leatherman on the bakerlight assembly, put it back together and works better than ever. Worse thing was I did not disconnect the battery and blew the main circuit fuse. While testing everything discovered my foot brake switch was not working, this was a reasonable $28.00 for new switch and wiring.

And there would have been another zero on the end, if still available and not declared obsolete.

Try ordering geniune Honda parts, what a colossal rip off,i've actually told the parts guys where to go and walked out, the CB250 is still in bits lol, and the buggy now has a Yamaha motor in it, and the dirt bikes are all Yammahas, Hondas are ust getting ridculous, like Mercedes or BMW.

Dunno about Honda bikes, but a replacement carby for my 5kVA genset 'only ' cost $200. (Honda-trained mechanic was unable to clean out the original ....)

Jap makers need to price through the roof for spares... unlike LR where nearly everything has a (short) consumable 'life'. Of course parts are cheaper.... they sell so many of them !
