    Engine belt idler removal

    Hi
    Quick question how does a engine belt pensioner pulley come off ? same as the aircon one -i am looking to replace the the bearing.it is a tdi 300

    15mm socket on the center bolt undo to the left then remove.

    Thanks is that the actual pulley or the whole tensioner?

    The defender is still in the shed does the pulley come off the tension-er ,and can i put a bearing in it -i9m pretty sure it does but it seems pretty tight id hate to break it during this preriod of global close down over xmas

    Yes the pulley does come off the tensioner. It is a left hand thread bolt, so move the bolt clockwise to undo it. The bearing can be replaced, it is a 6203 bearing from memory.

    Thanks woko and ade ill get onto it when it dtops below 42degrees(prob 50 in the shed
