    Replacement Defender Seats.

I have a 130 Cab Chassis with (I think) an early Discovery seat as a drivers seat, and a standard Defender seat on the passenger side.

As It's a work truck normally only the dog uses the passenger seat, and he's just happy to be there.

But whenever the Management rides in the truck she complains about the seat.

I've searched the forum for ideas about replacement seats but havn't found any.

I don't want to go to Recaros or new aftermarket seats, because it's a work truck not a show piece.

Has anyone fitted seats from another car to their Defender?

No, happy with the ones I have but, if you go onto the UK sites you will see there are plenty of options.

My mate has a 130 that is fitted with vinyle seats, my 110 has cloth trim. I think my cloth trim is just a litle bit softer than his vinyle trim.

Cant think of any of the sites in the UK off hand, but crab a UK LR mag, most large newsagents have them, you will find a number of trim suppliers and ideas in them.

    Hope this helps.

We looked at a few Defenders before finding one with Recaros,
if it wasn't for the Recaros I doubt I would have HQ approval to purchase.

Its a work truck too, & will be spending a lot of time bush. Am in the process of getting some canvas covers made for them.

Volvo seats used to be the seat of choice. may be worth a try.

We have a 2002 110 & a 2004 D2 and without doubt the seats in my 110 are far more comfortable than those in my Wife's D2. Initially when you sit in a Defenders seat they do not feel the most comfortable & the opposite with out D2, when you sit in it they feel very comfortable, but if you spend a few hours driving the opposite happens the 110s seat feel better & better & the Disco's get more uncomfortable. If I am doing a log days driving I will take a Defenders seat over a Disco's any day.

    I have taken some photos.

I think the passenger's seat in a standard vinyl Defender seat.

Perhaps the driver's seat is a later model Defender cloth seat.

I'm happy enough with the Driver's seat, but would like to replace the passenger seat to match the drivers seat, or just fit 2 matching later model seats.

My cloth seat look the same design as your passenger seat, at a guess, I'd say you have a late model defender seat in your drivers side, they are a bit bigger and have a bit more give. The standard cloth on mine does have more give than the standard vinyle. I did drive my mates 130 17hrs non stop once and got out good as gold. Have to agree with cols110 and on other experience, over a long distance a firm seat suits me better.

The driver's seat is fine, no problems with that.

The passenger's seat is not comfortable.

If I can confirm what the driver's seat is and get another to match I would be happy.

Exmoor trim do some pretty flash looking seats for Defenders, and they have removable bases, but they'll costya.

    Front Seats

I think you'd have to import them. I don't know of a distributor in Australia.

Take a drive up to the Sunny Coast to British Off Road and show them, they will probably have the one to match in stock from a wreck. Pretty sure your drivers side is a late model Deefer seat.
