    130 HCPU setups

Been sketching some ideas for my HPCU - drawers, tie downs, water tank and was interested in seeing what others have done...

I prefer tray tops to the HCPU or "style side" type bodies, so I made this. It's kind of a compromise between the two.

The centre part of the "deck" doubles as a ramp, attaching to the mounts for the tailgate. You can't really see in the pictures, but there's a drop down toolbox above the right wheel, and a 35 litre poly water tank with hand wash dispenser behind the left wheel. The spare wheel sits horizontally in the front of the "well", but there are also mounts on the centre posts on either side of the headboard, for greater flexibility (and additional spares). The rack in the last shot folds open to take five bikes, and mounts into recessed tubes in the floor. The recessed tubes also take a builder's rack.

There are a couple of things left to add - galvanised 50mm mesh for the headboard, and I need to finish the drop down sides (just the height of the checker plate on the headboard).

The tyres are 235/85R16, but the Wrangler MTRs (the previous model at least) are a bit wider than something like the 235 BFGs. They're about 250mm overall. I can't remember what the rim dimensions . I should measure them again shouldn't I....

I did, in Samford . Did you notice the dodgy bedspread-cum-grinding-and-welding-shield .

I have a hard top canopy with two side opening doors and floor at the height of the canopy.

Down below I plan on putting an extra dolium 130l fuel tank at the front with a drawer setup filling the rest of the space. One of the drawers will be a pull out kitchen Drifta style that will be able to stand on its own.

Spare wheel storage has been a problem so far - I plan on getting a rear wheel carrier as well.

Up top I just use cheap plastic boxes with tie downs.

The only updates since the photos are the mesh on the headboard, and two pairs of Quickfists under the right hand back corner. I still need to wire up an all-weather 12V socket and Anderson socket to the headboard. I've also toyed with the idea of fitting a 40 litre air tank under the right hand back corner driven by a compressor on the PTO, and making a removable canvas covered mesh cage in order to have more lockable space when traveling, but it's a case of too many ideas and not enough time to implement them. You know how it is.....
