300 TDi Disco Silencer removal
Hi Everyone, after quite a while just looking, here is my first real question. I hope someone can help me!
I went and bought a Terrafirma Disco 1 300 TDI Silencer replacement pipe ( Terrafirma DIS 1 300Tdi silencer replacement pipe | Performance - Exhaust Pipes Accessories for Land Rover Vehicles ) I chose this one because of the statement "Without any modification" After crawling around on the ground it appears that my exhaust is in two pieces. The first connecting to the turbo and having the flexible coupling, the second being the rest of the system including the front silencer and the rear muffler. I can see where the silencer replacement pipe should fit, but can't see how to fit it without cutting the existing pipe. As far as I can tell all of the exhaust is original (has Landrover badges on it and looks old enough to have been there since '96).
I just wondered if anyone had ever fitted one of these? Was it necessary to cut the exhaust? if so, did the new pipe just slide into the cut exhaust or was there welding etc involved?
Thanks!

I have also just purchased the same pipe from Sydney 4x4 thinking it was a bolt on untill I looked under and found the exhaust was in two pieces. I am just going to cut the silencer box towards the rear and get a muffler shop to swage one of the pipes so it slips and clamps with u clamps.
