    Td5 programming

I am wondering what is involed in programming a engine ecu is it a case of setting up injector codes??
I have a nanocom would that be able to program it for me
The reason I ask is I am thinking of getting a chipped ecu from triumph spares and fit it myself

I have a early 2001 non flash able ecu in my discovery

    Thanks
    James

There are two ways to program your ECU:

    - A reprogrammable ECU NNN*, a map for the concrete ECU, and a Nanocom (for example). The map is possible to be received by mail, paying by Paypal or VISA.
    - Send your MSB to any programmer who changes the internals and returns your ECU reprogrammed directly.

The second option is static, and the first is always reprogrammable.

    Hi James,

You've pretty much summed up the procedure required for setting up a chipped MSB prefix ECU.

What you would need to do is save the injector codes from your existing ecu to file using the Nanocom. This should also save out the settings for the throttle.

Swap in the chipped ECU, then load the injector codes and throttle setting from file and write them to the new ECU.

The other step you'd need to do is sync the security code with BCU, which you can do with the Nanocom.

    cheers
    Paul
