    Photoshop request.

Hi All, I placed the deposit on a 130 D/C Puma in Galway green today, it should be here in July. I need a little help trying to work out the colour of the tray and I was hoping one of the photoshop wiz's out there might be able to assist.

The vehicle is a standard 130 in the green with a black bullbar, I'm looking at either a grey or black tray as being the cheapest option or getting a matching tray for about 400 extra. I was hoping somebody may be able to mock up a few images - try as I might I can't seem to find anything on google. I'm planning on getting a sheet of alloy chequerplate folded over the edge of the traysides to act as protection from scratching etc.

I would worry less about the colour and more about more serious tray choice issues:

    Congrats on te new purchase,

spend the extra 400 and get it matched. I know it's hard to keep forking out when you have spent as much as you have.
But IMO aluminium trays are the only thing you can get away with not having colour matched. If it's steel, and it's black or grey will always look half done.
Some of the alloy tray manufacturers supply a hard plastic C channel that goes over the top lip of the tray. It is black so will blend with the rest of the black on the car. However it may be too narrow and they sell it for a good profit. I'm sure something similar could be sourced elsewhere.

Cheers isuzurover, I read that thread with a bit of concern last week, while at the dealers yesterday I spoke to the tray builder and he is going to put in rubber blocks beneath the tray to give it more flexibility. Only charged $20 extra too.

I agree Newhue about the alloy trays, if you have a look at this ute - 2005 Land Rover Defender 110 Flat Deck - $33,995.00 - I know its not alloy but that silver gal colour does go pretty well with the green. Having said that for what I need to do with it a alloy tray isn't really going to work.

Go black! I like it anyway, and my theory is that it easier to touch up than a "colour". I went grey for the deck so that when it scratches it will closer match the bare aluminium underneath. I mounted the tray on rubber to hopefully prevent some of the cracking that occurs to the chassis mounts.

I do like your choice of colour though jplambs; I nearly went green when I repainted my Tdi, and regret it a little now.

Fair enough. Hope that works. Will he be fitting metal tubes through the rubber blocks?

Personally, I would galvanise the tray - it will last forever then. If you want the bullbar to match you can get that shot blasted and galvanised too. I think grey and green looks better than black and green personally.

Not sure Isuzurover, is there a benefit to having the tubes in place? Have just found out from the dealer today that the colour isn't Galway anymore, apparently Landrover have discontinued Galway and have swapped to Aintree green. Not that I can tell the difference.

Aesthetics wise I reckon go the green tray. You'll have white roof, green body and black tray. Too many colours.

Even tho I didn't get the white quite right, I think matching the tray with the body works. Have other pics on other posts, but due to the wonderful uploading system on this site, I can't put the pic I want up here! Sorry!
