    Extension mirrors mounted on D4 folding mirrors

    I have mounted extension mirrors on the folding mirrors. When they operate, the mountings stop the mirrors going in all the way. The mirror motors stop when the mounting comes in contact with the window. My question is : is there a limit switch or does the stop normally operate on sensing a stop in the mirror movement?
    I am concerned that I might be overloading the motors.

    While not answering your question, perhaps this might give you some assistance. I have a Discovery 4 and fitted the cheapest extension mirrors I found, around $20 pair I think. Two straps go around the Discovery mirror and are tightened by pulling the strap. No problems so far and the Discovery mirrors open and close as normal.

    Hello Robbiek2009,

    This will not answer your question on the limit switches or motor operation.

    I have have fitted Milenco Towing Mirrors to my D4 Folding Mirrors.

    Thanks guys for your response. I have been in touch with Land Rover Australia, They suggested I ring my Service agent and my Service agent really doesn't Know!
    So there you have it.....still don't know.
