    Twin shock rubbing?

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking at shifting my front shocks to a +2" twin setup so I can run air bags. I noted on one of the sites that I've looked at said that you had to run 30mm spacers or you will rub... obviously I can't do that here and be legal.. Has anyone run anything like these:

Front Shock Brackets - Twin 2 inch Lift - Britpart DA6322L at www.rimmerbros.co.uk

    ?

    Did they rub?

Also is there a good twin setup that isn't britpart??? The other twin ones I've found havn't been +2".

    Thanks

Although I haven't used the twin shock set up, I looked at a lot of these kits and only remember the rear twin shock set up needing the spacers, and then only if you were using the standard Defender rims. Which rims I can't remember.

I thought of using the twin front shock but people on this and other forums had reported cracking where the spring seat meets the chassis.

I am using the terrafirma kit on my airbag setup, it also has modified lower mounts for the longer shock, dropping them about 50mm

Yup, I had them on the front of my 130, and the tyres rubbed on the shocks, I had disco 1 steel rims with wide BFG AT's. It was still quite drivable, but if I'd had the rims "reversed" it would not have been an issue, no spacers would have been needed.

I was in the process of fitting 4 wheel air suspension to the deefer using a complete p38a system, but bought an L322 instead!

    Cheers,

running the 130 steel rims and 750x16 XZLs wasnt rubbing, back on 285s with -25 16x8s now no issues either. I have fairly large body shocks upfront to.
