    Dirty Fuel - Warning

    Hi There,

Recently drove the RRS up from Sydney to the Gold Coast. Car performed better than expected on the highway and I got out after 8.5 hours very refreshed - much more comfortable than my VW R36.

Anyway the next morning I get in the RRS and am presented with a "Restricted Performance" message on the display.

Drove the car, felt exactly normal. Rang LR assist who advised to continue driving, but booked the car in to be looked at.

Long story short, filled up just outside Grafton and there was water in the diesel, which was caught by the filter and triggered the message.

Dealer (Bruce Lynton) was fantastic - wish they were in Sydney so I could use them all the time. Drained and replaced the filter, advised no need to empty the tank, and $500 later all good again.

Apparently due to the high rainfall recently water can leech into the underground fuel tanks and this can be an issue. Was advised to try and pick a busy servo which is high up if possible - naturally I had picked a quiet BP servo in a gully on the highway just outside Grafton...

Have sent an email to BP to try and seek payment (the last 11 tanks of fuel were from a BP service station - with receipts), but am not holding my breath.

Just something I thought I would share, though it is common sense and probably most (smart) people would have known anyway!

    Cheers,
