Hey Guys
Need some advice. The family and I are going on a six week trip overseas and I would like to know what I should do to each of the landies (300tdi, td5, D4) before we go.
I wont be able to get anyone to drive them so should I just disconnect the batteries in each and leave it at that or are there specific steps I should take to ensure that I leave them in the best possible condition, if you know what I mean!!
Cheers
Dave

fill the fuel tanks, bump up the tyre pressures if you get big temperature variations to help prevent flat spots park em (remember to deflate before you drive off), disconnect the batteries OR hook up float chargers and If its in locked storage, leave a window down Just in case the FOB cracks the sads and you need to get into it.

Isn't there a problem leaving a D4 without batteries?
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
that would be enough after all its only 6 weeks.
if you are paranoid then a battery trickle charger to keep the batteries full. also full tank of juice to reduce condensation.
I went O/S for 4 weeks and left my P38A. Prior to that it hadn't been driven for several weeks and following my return it wasn't driven for a month or so. Not a problem after charging the battery.

Personally, I have left a TD5 and a Tdi Deefer for over 3 months without any problems, such as flay batteries or flat spots on tyres. They were daily drives up until a pleasant cruise on the grey funnel line.

The Tdi and Td5 should be fine, just disconnect the batteries and as others have said pump up tyres, leave full full of diesel, personally i would stick a trickle charger on the D4 as there is too much electrical wizardry to bugger up lol, also lock the Tdi and Td5 with the keys so the alarms don't do anything funny when the batteries are hooked back up, but as the D4 only has a fob, i really wouldn't pull the battery off.

Thanks lads, a few things I didnt know there. I ll get myself a trickle charger for the D4 during the week.
