    Suspension fault

    Hi guys,

I was driving down a pretty rough dirt road going camping a few weeks ago when my disco 3 got a bit of a knocking noise in the front right hand side. A few kms down the road i got the bing bong suspension normal height only as i was in that mode. Got to where i was going had a look but could not find where it was coming from. The next day was driving through tracks all day when at the end of the day bing bong suspension fault at the raised level. Now the alarm comes on every time you drive it so i took it to a good diesel mechanic. I told him what was going on the noise sounds like a dud shock type of sound but you can only hear it on a rocky road. He got back to me with this RH upper ball joint little warn and he got half a rotation tensioning, steering rack end has wear cant find any other problems. Cleared faults U0132 ( lost communication with ride level control module ) and U0155 ( lost communication with instrument panel cluster control module) road tested all good. I picked the car up drove it off the gutter to test it as he didn't go off road bing bong same fault, went back in and this time the fault would not clear. He advised me to go to a auto sparky as he thinks i have two different problems , but i don't. So i still have that knocking rattle only on rough roads and the orange light on the dash i guess im off to Gold Coast Land Rover ??? Any one had this problem ???

Two problems? The knocking may be form your front control arm, mine rattled a little in the padock and was only really heard when going slow on bumpy bits. Was not to bad to replace in $$. I was told you can replace the bushes but it might be harder or break when pressing/pushing new ones in. Choose replace myself on both sides.
The BONG and susspension error- check brake lights globes, search forum for brake light controler and other similar bits which have biten us but are quick to fix! I just put in LED globes as my brake light globes caused one bong to many about every 50,000km or so. eletric brake controler is another thing to disconect to check if it might be a cause.
