    diesel/offroad enthusiasts dream!!!

I know its not a landrover but this thing needs to be shown....its the best of both worlds (diesel and offroad madness)

only way it could be better is if it had a landrover body

people that are interested in diesel motors take the time to look this truck up on pirate4x4 and see what has been done to it...everyone else admire the portals and suspension construction haha

What a beast. Pirate 4x4 has a lot of really good threads, despite all the hillbilly crap they go on about (knocking everything). I am also a member there, but have not posted yet.

    Cheers

Wouldn't say no to that rig...

well Ill knock a few things haha

#1 for all the time and $$$ spent, and the wheelbase, where is the rear steer?

#2 for the height, I hope it has 12 or more inches of up travel.....

#3 @ the 45sec mark, is that a funky panhard rod that has a nasty bend in the end of it and mounts up BETWEEN the top and bottom link on the right hand side?

there does look like alot of very nice fab work in it though

I'd rather drive my Landy than push that Jeep!

Why didn't they drive it, or don't they have a ladder to get in?

In thought niether videos were much. The jeep didnt go and the cummins land rover drove around a pit any ordinary vehicle could negotiate.....rather tame and boring I thought

I agree that the Cummins powered LR wasn't testing itself on the toughest terrain, but if you knew what these engines were originally designed for, you would understand that it is one tough truck - not sure what its off roading ability would be with that much weight over the front axle, but it would tow anything at a decant clip, and not hang around getting there. That engine would have originally been in an 8 - 10 tonne truck, so it would haul the less than 3 tonne Landy about with ease... For a power upgrade - it is rather good.

that is only one of the first videos there is alot out there showing it driving but only from in the cab...im guessing that they have wound the coilovers up to there maximum just to turn the bogans on either that or they are HUGE...
as for the cummins land rover i think from memory what he was trying to achieve was a more powerfull tow vehicle and nothing to do with offroading but just showing how good the 6bt is
as for steering box im thinking the 4bolt rover one should hold up.

    then theres this 6bt
