    dare at cityview

well another group of members have completed the dare and done very well.
we did have some others come along for the day and assist, amuse and worry us.
thank you all for your friendlyness on the day.
as i have said a million times today, sorry for taking a track that was far more difficult today than on previous trips.
we did have one incident that woke us all up as to the dangers of playing in the bush, a simple miss on the right line and there we were recovering a car from a ticklish situation,
with winch assistance from garry and many willing helpers,we got the car back on track and away we went
i thank you all for your assistance in this, it really shows what a great bunch of people we have in this club.
so back to lunch, where i found that i missed on bringing a vital piece of gas equipment, so that was solved by using the owners bbq where we had a good time watching some others negociating the track out of the playground.
i took but one picture, which is out of focus, but i am sure pete has a few [thousand] pictures.

It's been a while for me, but it was great fun to be out with Harry and a few of the other committee and members again - Pete decided to ride shotgun in my car and he took lots of photos, will be great to see all the evidence of the day's activities.
As mentioned we did have a slight hiccup - but with many willing and knowledgeable hands available, it was soon back on the road and on with the driving, with no damage done!
The new members did really well and we look forward to see you all out there on the tracks and trips!

Thanks Harry for once again doing the necessary hard yards and getting yet another ripper Dare of the ground.
We all had a good time and learned a thing or two along the way
Thanks also for the other members who pitched in to lend a hand.

I only got one picture, things were too much fun after that for mucking around with cameras

See everybody on a trip soon

    Harry - and everybody else:

I had an absolute blast today. My first 'real' drive with my new machine after driving a certain American brand car for 3 year. The previous one wasn't bad at all, but boy what a difference. Defenders rock, and so does this nice bunch of people.

    Cheers,

    Ed.

I am in love with the Power Bulge in the bonnet.

I am also in love with the Jag V8 in Garrys Disco..

I was telling Cheeky about how good it sounds, Now she wants one for her new motor.

Does anyone know where I can get one for $150 and a carton of beer

We thoroughly enjoyed today. Learnt a bit more and it was great for Kim to meet some of the club members. It was also her first experience of driving off road, which - after a few minor hiccups, she coped with pretty well! As long as she doesn't get too used to sitting that side of the car!!! . Thanks to all for the day out and all who took part in the afternoon drive.

Maybe if I get some of Harry's Aviation fuel it will make it perform and sound even better

The side's of my car will never look the same again but it was good fun and well worth the effort

The afternoons run was good, we headed up the link road on to the goat track and on to ridge road via the short cut lane

We stopped at Steve's knob to have a look over to the towers of Brisbane and after a quick stop headed on along the track and returned on the city view drive without any fuel pump failures this time

We headed off the park after that and refilled our tyres at the side of the road at the main entry gate which allowed us to all catch up again before heading off on our separate ways again until the next trip

    See you all on Thursday
