    Warranty question (not landrover)

Here is my situation. My 2009 3.2 DID Triton has 80,000km on it, has been serviced by the book at the same dealer and is still under warranty. It started getting hot on the weekend so I stopped the engine, popped the bonnet and have discovered that the fan cowling has been rubbing against the back of the radiator and has worn a small hole in it. So my question - in your opinion is this fair wear and tear and should I foot the bill, or should it be covered by warranty?
I’m not sure where I should stand on this.
    Cheers

That's a warranty claim. A fan shroud shouldn't be a wearing item, ever. It wasn't mounted tightly enough!

It is certainly not fair wear and tear. There should be no contact. If no-one but a Mitsi tech has had anything to do with the under bonnet part of the car then I believe it should be warranty with the problem caused by either a factory glitch or by a clumsy Mitsi technician at service time.

I think you should go straight back to the servicing dealer and explain the problem. But please remember - you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

    Good Luck Mate.
