Ricks 4wd in Nerang. If main beam does work, its likely to be the switch and a common failure.
I am having some issues with the low beam lights (gone) on my 97 300TDi Defender. Can anyone recommend a reliable sparky on the Gold Coast who is familiar with Landrover nuances?
Thanks... David

What he said.. and if Rick doesn't do the auto electrical stuff himself (but I think he does) I am betting he will recommend someone who does..

Thanks, I will follow it up after Easter.

Just as a point of interest, do you know if it is the main switch or the dipper/horn/indicator switch that is normally at fault? My brother (who also owns a Defender) has a main switch that he didn't use so hopefully it's that one.
Kind regards... David
No it usually is the dipper/indicator switch.

Thanks Philip, I will order one.
is it physicaly broken? it may just be a bit tweaked or have crud on the contacts. I did replace mine after 13 years though.
Car Sparks Australia at kamholtz crt are also good for auto elec stuff.
Uninformed
I did notice that the switch was getting very weak or loose so I think it is time for a new one. My daughter lives in England so I have arranged for her to send me the part.
Thanks and kind regards... David
