D3 TDV6 Diesel Gas. Possible?

Has anyone had any experience with installing diesel gas on a D3 TDV6. If so what gains have you seen? Power? Economy?

Sorry I haven't got any real world feedback with an actual vehicle, but I would say yes it is possible, but not really necessary IMHO. These engines will get as good as 8 to 8.5l/100km, and towing consumption will see low to mid teens, the same as an UNLADEN 78 series troopy!!

Even chipped they seem to use no more fuel in real terms, (IE if you have a foot to floor race with a R33 Gtst Skyline you won't be surprised to use more diesel) so I probably wouldn't spend the $$$, just my 2.75c

My Dad had a turbo diesel auto 100 Series, he regularly got his fuel figures below 10 litres per hundred on a trip.
His new (to him) Sport TDV6 is getting about 8.7 litres per hundred on his current trip.

From my research most modern diesel gas kits are set up for economy rather than max power, to avoid warranty issues. The big problem is that for all post 2002 vehicles emissions certification has to be gained for each kit/vehicle combination that is possible, before the system can be legally installed. I will enquire on Monday as to what is available in SA.

As for economy, the cost saving still stands at around 10% as you replace 20% of your normal diesel usage with LPG which is generally around 1/2 the price of diesel, at least around Adelaide and Melbourne. This varies of course, at the moment it is somewhat over half the price of diesel.

Dunno,my D4 is lucky to get tens driven like a baby on a run.Same type of driving would have got low nines in the D2.

Hopefully it will get better as it runs in a bit more.

Remember the average fuel usage figures on the vehicle readout is often way out.As an example mine will say 8.6l/100 av for a tankful,but when you work it out yourself it will be around 10.4l/100.
Haven't been to the stealers so they can look at it yet,but by reports on here it can't be changed.

Sorry I was Meaning NA 1HZ etc especially in 78 series troopy , the 1HDFTE is a beautiful thing Better go and edit then.

I live in the country and most of my driving is long distance highway cruising. Travelling to Adelaide and back, the best I can average is about 10l/100kms. I usually sit either on 100kp/h or just under.

I'm not really after extra power, I just wan to maximise economy.
