What have I done wrong?

Last weekend I did some work on the old Defender...
...and now it doesn't leak Even in a monsoonal downpour
  Even in a monsoonal downpour
Obviously I have stuffed up somewhere.
All I did was replace the rusty vent hinge pins and vent seals, lubricate and straighten the vent levers and clean up and repaint the 2 blocks on the windscreen.
OK there's a little more to it. The rusted pins and stiff/bent levers prevented the vents from fully closing. Now they sit nice an flush when closed. The two windscreen blocks were more interesting. I'd suspected the driver's side block had a failed gasket but was wrong. It only had a gasket on the bottom portion, as did the passenger's side. There was evidence of them being there once upon a time as there were pieces of gasket in the hollow portion and on the edge. Obviously they had been removed, roughly cleaned and not replaced. Anyway a Sikaflex "gasket" and all is good.
I must say I was kind of stunned when I went to get in the car the next morning to find it dry inside. There was a couple of inches of rain fell overnight so I was expecting some water inside but nearly fell over when I opened the door. Very pleased with my effort
