85 County Front Diff rebuild query

I may want to rebuild the front diff on the 85 110 Isuzu County in the not too distant future.
And maybe replace the axles. No probs with any of them , just unsure of their past!

Assuming the following (and please tell me where I am wrong)

Rear Diff , Salsibury , 24 spline diff, 24 spline inner and outer axles.

Front Diff , Rover , 10 spline diff ? , 10 spline inner and 24 spline outer axles ?

Assuming all that is correct , is it feasible to rebuild the front to 24 spline and replace the axles?

May want to upgrade the axle caps to Maxi's or something stronger but will leave the axles as standard so they are the fusible links.
It is possible to repair an axle track side but not so a diff!

If you want to change to a 24 spline front you need to change the front diff for a 24 spline type or at minimum you need to change the diff side gears. I think from memory the spline into the CV's are 23 spline.

The heavy duty drive flanges are good.

If standard, the front will be 10 inner 23 outer. I installed an Ashcroft ATB (Torsen type LSD) which is 24 spline, and used Rovertracks axles and original CVs. I use standard drive flanges, hopefully they will be the fusible link as carrying and replacing a drive flange is a lot easier than fishing bits of broken axle from the diff centre out! Been there done that on the side of the road in QLD... It was Brian/Bearman's idea of keeping standard drive flanges front and rear and upgrading everything else btw.
The LSD is also a lot gentler on the CVs and axles and stronger than the original open centre so it is a pretty big upgrade in strength.

As mentioned, CVs are 24 spline and inner axles 23 / 10 spline.

Upgrading to 24-spline aftermarket centre and 24 spline aftermarket axles is well worth it.

I have never heard of a drive flange breaking. Yes it can wear out because of lack of lubrication and the splines fret and wear. I run Ashcroft flanges and oil cooled/feed bearings this allows oil to migrate to the drive flange and lube the spline. This slows the fretting down and minimizes drive line back lash from this area.

The only way I can see a standard flange failing is if the fretting was so bad that a high load sheared the splines and the axle was able to spin inside the flange. This much wear would/should have been picked up a lot earlier.

mark, standard CVs will probobly end up being your fusable link - i have same experience as lambrover, never seen them broken just worn out.

I have a RD128 Arb airlocker in the centre, but i use a d1 diff housing in mine as i bent my original one and also needed 24 spline hubs and stubs to suit my Rover tracks CVs, i also run rover tracks axles. It was easier for me to build up the complete axle out of the vehicle and then swap in out.

If i was doing it again i would probobly opt for a toyota centre and covert the housing to fit it or use an eaton e-locker as i have my doubts about the ARB airlockers.

Or you could just fit a McNamara locker and not have to worry

the cvs in the 85 110 county should be AEU2522. These are no longer available OEM, only cheap aftermarket and HD chromo like Ashcroft or Roveringtracks...

you alxes are 10spline to diff, 23 spline to cv. I seriously doubt you could count on the driveflange as being the weak link and failing before anything else. If it where me, I would go the Ashcroft locker, with your choice of alxes: Ashcroft, Roveringtracks or Hi-tough. your choice on the cv if yours are ok you can run with them....
