    LPG/Petrol Rangie keeps stalling

Hello Again. I have a '92 RR Classic fitted with petrol/gas that seems to keep stalling on either fuel. It happens when the engine is warm, under normal load, but mostly as you slow down at lights or to corner. Unfortunately its happenning to my wife while I'm away at work! When I get back I am going to look at replacing the Mass Airflow Sensor but it was suggested that it could also be the stepping motor. I am unsure what the stepping motor is, so any advice on what it is and how it works would be appreciated or any other thoughts on possible causes. Thanks for the help.

The idle speed controller (stepper motor) lives on the drivers side of the inlet manifold, at the back of the engine. It has a 4 wire plug. When it is unplugged it can be unscrewed and cleaned. This needs to be done with care, not forcing the plunger inside.

Also the base idle setting can be changed, fit a 3/16 inch allen key into the small hole in the raised cast bit on top of the air intake side of the manifold, turn the screw anticlockwise until the idle stabilises.

Thanks heaps for your reply, with a bit of luck this will solve the problem. If you ever get out near Bathurst let me know, if I'm home its my shout. Cheers, Jules.

    A bit more info

Thanks again for the help In doing some more research I found some pics if the stepper motor, in a landroversonly forum. I thought that if there's anyone else out there who knows as little as me they might come in handy!
