    Eildon Here I come

Counting down the hours now till I hook the little hottie up and drive to Eildon. Gunna be freezing as F&*^ but I don't mind, I've got a truck load of new lures to get snagged and lose, but I don't mind. The wife's grumpy as hell coz she's not coming, but I don't mind. Just me, and me 2 best mates, a boot full of booze, a nice warm bed in the Boatel and 3 days of pure heaven.....

Had a good time, very wet for the 1st day then it came good, ended up with 2 browns, 1 was 3.5 pnds and the other a tad over 2pnds. Also a few big carp and a heap of redfin.

    Thumbs up

    Good effort.
Alot of people don't seem to like Redfin, not sure why, very nice to eat. We used to have them in the front dam untill they diverted the spring that fed it and it dried during the hot spell. Very disapointing, nothing better than grabbing the rod, then be cleaning two pan size fish for dad and myself a half an hour later

I rekon those whom dont like Redfin have eaten them from dirty water.
I have caught them in the same spot in clean water and dirty water at different times of the year, wouldnt waste my time feeding the dirty water Redfin to a cat, even the cat wouldnt eat it.Clean water Redfin are loverly eating

I'd trade a Trout for a Redfin any day.

Redfin are wonderful to eat, very underated. I tried a different receipe tonight when I cooked the brown trout. I always bake them whole with lemon, this time I filleted it then cooked it in butter. It was fantastic!!! I'd never thought to try trout this way.

I know where the big trout are in the pondage

The tailrace of the hydro power station is where they hang! Massive and easy picking, we used to fish off the bridge near the station when rebuilding the 220kv switchyard about 8 years ago, no public access then though
