    Iveco Daily Forward Control 4x4

Now heres a New 4x4 I would want to buy,

    Would make an awesome camper

Iveco Daily 4x4 goes on sale | carsguide.com.au

There is no news of it yet on the Iveco website

Would it be welcome at AULRO because of its Landrover Links, after all the discontinued Iveco Massif uses Daily 4x4 running gear , and a Massif is just a rebadged Santana Landrover

Good to see the Massif rear diff is not in the centre of the axle, like all the Jap stuff now is, but sure as hell have to be tougher than rover /p38 diffs & I'm loving the standard rear diff lock & optional front diff lock

I just found out the Daily 4x4 diffs are in the centre Front (WTF) & rear

The iveco Massif is still basically a landrover with all the crap bits replaced by good bits.

The Daily has a D44(?) front diff right in the middle!!! So I don't like your chances of an offset rear diff.

It is certainly no unimog... Still has leaf springs!

EDIT - rear diff looks central too - well at least they are in line! Transfer case must be a bit strange...

I remember see in one of these at Iveco when I was doing some work there, it was rapped up in plastic though and was set up as a camper.

The diffs and axles certainly look solid. SOA leaf springs front and rear probably wouldn't give the best ride though, and it may have a high CofG.

Certainly has heaps of ground clearance though! 2 lockers and 2 diff covers and it would go quite well off-road.

    - Which means there isn't much LR left, mainly the suspension-design concept...

I think with an aftermarket set of springs to soften the ride,as I would never want to carry anywhere near what it is rated to carry, and with the suspension seats that it looks like it has,and a set of 37's.I think it would make a really good tourer.

Might be a good alternative for a small canter or Isuzu which is what I'm looking for at the moment, and a quick look on YouTube shows it has waaaaay more articulation than either! Just have to bring it in at the right price.

They seemed to have removed the springs and replaced them with leaf suspension. Do they have drums as well?

Can't be right. My 110 has GVM of 3200 plus towing of 3500 = 6700kg. You'd think GCVM would be more for this?
