If it's the same spec as your car, grab it.
If it's not the same spec & you have a HSE, then some of the mechanical bits are not the same (different gearbox, rear diff) so you need to weigh that up.

I have been offered a P38A in reasonably good condition but with a damaged engine for a $1000, I am not sure what the air bags and HVAC components are like as I can't start the engine, while my vehicle requires a few parts it certainly does not require some of the ones that are on this vehicle.
My query is, do you think the price is OK and should I purchase it as a ready source of parts for mine if needed, storage space is not an option.

Sounds like a good buy, and your a little bit far from me but not too far - whats the problem with the motor?
