    Diff TC Gearbox Breathers

So only 6 week till my next Cape trip. Vehicle prep is all but finished, other than a few small items, one of which is above mentioned breathers.

I have traced the front diff breathers to high in the engine bay, there is also a second line that is from either the TC or gear box ? It follows the front diff line. The rear diff finishes on the floor pan (obviously as a minimum needs to be extended)

These are all factory breathers, but how good are they ?

Is it worth buying one of these flash looking after market kits, with filters and a nice billet mounting block ?

What has everyone else done ?

All thought and opinion most welcome.

I use aquairum tube and t pieces then plug into a cheap super cheap filter.

If I feel the need to pressurise them I use one of those impeller type mattress inflators and plug it onto the filter, turn it on 30 seconds before getting wet and off when done.

Drover, I linked my R380, transfer and front diff using 6mm SMC hose and assorted tee's and unions. The end of the breather terminates high on the LHS firewall with a small fuel filter on the end to prevent dirt ingress.
I dont do any deep water crossings but it is good insurance none the less.

    Drover,

If you let me know what fittings, tubing etc. you need I can organise at a good price (I work in the pneumatics industry).

The billet blocks or folded bits of laser cut stainless steel are a very expensive way of holding the ends of the tube .....but they look nice

I can supply a fitting with a female thread and a pneumatic silencer to screw in if you are worried about dust getting back down the breather. Personally my Defender still has the standard axle breathers but I've had to replace the banjo fittings on the axles. They were plated steel and eventually rusted inside and blocked up, pressurising the diff.

I used garden irrigation tube from Bunnings to run extensions for the rear diff and fuel tank to the front firewall.
Some T pieces from aquarium store, short lengths of fuel hose (came with filter), and hose clamps to join them all together to an inline fuel filter.

It is quite easy when you have a look and will cost very little.
