Use a bit of heat from a hot air gun to soften the glue & they should come off easily. Use wax & grease remover to clean up the residue.
I am going to replace the front and rear "Range Rover" 'lettering'. Does anyone have any hints as to removing the existing 'letters'?

If yours are like mine they will come off with little effort. The front basically fell off. Would be interested to know where you sourced the new ones from.
Start here,
range rover letters | eBay
Go onto evilBay, and do a search for "range rover letters"
Just be careful I have checked this out, while some claim to be for a P38 the letters will not fit the bonnet because of the curve but will fit the rear. Ask the supplier the direct question prior to purchase 3 suppliers claim they will fit but in fact will only fit the rear. There are some on there that will do both but they are expensive at over $100 delivered
Just my 0.2 cents worth

Yes !
]Always a good idea to check the price of 'genuine', locally-sourced as well as any (genuine LR) from o/seas agents, for a true comparison.
Being on evilBay does'nt always mean better value...
Purchased the lettering from Rimmer Bros. in the UK - Not cheap - bonnet - GBP 42.19 - tailgate - GBP 39.47. However they are OEM Land Rover parts.
For those reading this thread who haven't yet bought the new letters, I renewed mine quite acceptably with a paint pen (see here).
