We Are Off To The Cold!

Well, our week long trip to NSW Central Tablelands has commenced.

Extreme and the Coleman Clan +2 left home at 6am concurrently and met up at Yamanto Macca's in the fog this morning for breakfast, before heading out to the rondevous point at Aratula. Wabashford was waiting for us, and the trip Leaders, the Ho Hars, with Pop058 and Nan following were holding everyone up.

We have arrived in Warialda for the night, made camp, had dinner, and are settling in for the night.

We have had 1 breakage, 1 tinkering session and a mechanical requiring 3 sets of hands, some onlookers and a spread of tools to fix.

All good now, but see if you can guess who had what go wrong.

Will update as we have access.

Beer and Stones is calling, and off to our destination tomorrow.

Well it is 8:00 and everyone is in bed. It's quite cold and the wisps of Fog are flowing up the street.

Our tent is toasty warm, thanks to a powered site, heater and six bodies. The Ho Hars still have some residual heat in the 101 from the day, Pop and Nan have an Air Conditioned cabin, Bill is sleeping in the back of his traveling truck and Kevin and Leon are roughing it out in swags under a tree.

The General has just climbed in, so now it is snuggle time.

    See you all Tomorrow.

Nice chilly morning. Only down to 3 degrees though.

Camper trailer tent packed up. Plenty of bodies up since 5am. Bacon and eggs cooking away, then we will final pack and be off.

Am running the posts on my phone so can't upload the pics. There will be plenty in the report though.
Currently on the road between Manilla and Gunnedah.

Well, it turned damn cold here today. Must have seen the slow club coming. I dare say a few may be a bit numb with these draughty old vehicles and some have no heater let alone door tops .

I was wondering if this lot were ever going to front, but they did just in time to set up camp.... Just.
It was like a construction zone, walls, roofs, more walls, then more walls, then two of them created a car port out of a tarp (I call it tent poll city)

The vehicles all appear to still function,(or partially function) but I think some of tomorrow maywell be spent chasing two oil leaks, another possible issue a wont mention and perhaps an electrical gremlin or two mixed in.

Speaking of electrical, It seems Mr Lucas may have wired the light in the main kitchen as it stopped functioning as the LandRovers arrived.

As usual, there were plenty of laughs, banter and some great stories on the trip so far around the warm fire at the Hilton.

One thing I have picked up, never get directions off Mrs HH unless you have three extra jerry cans and a pretty handy map. Even if a sign says fuel in 4kms.

I'll let them all tell the stories in time during the trip report.

Most or tomorrow will be settling in and a perhaps a few minor repairs.

Tuesday. JDNSW could be calling over in his trusty 2a and perhaps go for a run around some of the property.

Wednesday, we plan to take the slow club for a run to the Coolah Tops to take in some scenery and have a BBQ etc. (great spot for a visit)

Dare say most of Thursday everyone will just blend in to the farm life as we have plenty going on here at the moment.

Pretty sure the slow club plan to launch on Friday for a very sloooow trip home via the odd bit of scenery.

Well, as you know we have arrived and settled in.

We spent the day yesterday in the workshop tinkering and helping out Tony get ready to repair the ute.

JDNSW came for a visit today, and we are currently on Trig Hill taking in an overview of the property and a bit of low range work.

Nice and cold, plenty of indoor and outdoor fires and our roast lamb dinner is in the oven as we speak.

    Off to Coolah Tops tomorrow.

See you at the next update.
