give tim at traxide tronics a call,
tim is one of our founding members and deals with all things eletrical and dual battery systems.
his name here is drivesafe,
he is a good fella.
I want to fit an Aux Battery, and am not impressed by ARBs offering ($, proximity to turbo heat & tiny non-deep cycle Century battery). I've tried to identify Optimas; Oddyssey & Hawker options but all too tall. My plan is to occupy the bottom of the OS rear side storage bin. Before I "invent the wheel", anyone else already sorted this?

+1 to what Harry said.
I've got a Traxide in my D3 and we've also put another one in Dad's RRS. They've worked well and haven't given us any trouble.

Thank you all, I've been in Melbum & only just got home & spent hours trawling through the AULRO D2 threads to discoverthat there is a lot of help there. Don't want to follow the engine bay near Turbo solution with a piddly battery, so will build a mount & retention arrangement in one of the back cargo boxes & wire up using Tim's "clever" box & wires.

I mounted an AGM battery (glass matt - sealed - can take run down and fast re charge) on its side under the passenger seat where the air compressor for air suspension would have been.
Not touched it since - in 5 years! I used a super cheap generic battery tray and flat bar - pretty simple and it survived some rough runs
My charge system is a $30 solenoid that activates when ignition on. When ignition is off the battery is isolated from the main battery and accessories run off this battery - fridge, amp doof doof in boot, extra fridge plugs, UHF, hard wired phone charger, and Anderson plug in rear for an extension 12 volt socket box - means I can run lights a long way from car as VERY heavy cable/no voltage drop
Make sure you fuse both ends - to protect cable and against a cable short out somewhere - for you main power wires.
