No, officially the first service is at 24000 or 260000km (depending on engine size) but Land Rover would like to see it at 12000/13000km for a 'Health Check' which is a basic check over of the car.

Am I supposed to get the car checked out or serviced at the 1000km mark?

My first service was 26000.
I had the oil dropped and filter changed at 5000, and will do so every 10000. I intend to keep it for a long time.

I was at the Dealers yesterday & asked about how they change the oil in the 3.0ltr. He replied that they used to suck the oil out but found that all the old oil was not coming out! They now use the drain plug. I also found that the oil filter, fuel filter & fan belt are all different to The D3 2.7. Interesting!

The reason I ask is there is a yellow sticker on the inside of the fuel filler door that has an oil icon, some other icon and 1000km written on it. I presume it just means check them?
For the record, Service intervals for new D4's are now 10,000 B service and 20,000 A service.
Cheers.
I think that's to remind you to check the oil.

						Cheers Brett,
I think I've seen you driving around Subi / West Perth area a couple of times recently. Would that be you?

Mine's a fairly non-descript Ipanema Sand HSE with side protection moldings and not much else atm. I think it was last Wednesday heading home from work you were heading the opposite direction on Salvado Road.
