    Wiring out to roof rack

Looking for advice on getting power out the back of my defender to my roof rack for 4 small LED flood lights.

Each light is 10w and I will have them separated into two sides so 20w per side.

for wiring I was going bring it in through the rear side panel above the gutter through a gland. I am thinking now if I ever remove the roof rack it could be an issue so my alternative is fitting a flush mounted socket, looking at the 7 pin small round one, and have a plug on the light end to connect in, these are the ones used on trailers I am talking about.

I think this will be OK.

But I want to be able to make it expandable in the future so if I was to fit an LED lightbar up the front at some point would the small sockets be able to handle the power?

Is there an alternative to using this type of socket and connection?
I am sure it has been done many times before but not had much luck with search.

    thanks
    Pat

One of the things that motivated me to put a snorkel on the Rangie was to use it as a conduit for the wiring to my rooftop bull lights, straight from a relay near the battery and up to the roof. Anderson plugs of appropriate size for the application are probably a better choice than a trailer plug.

I wouldn't bother with trailer connectors.
