    Those popup ads on the underlined words are becoming annoying......
    Am I going to buy their stuff if it annoys me?

    I am getting them on other websites too - maybe I have downloaded some sort of hijack trojan.

    Sound like you have a text enhancer virus. It could be listed as a program called "Bfix", which you can uninstall. You can also remove it from your start menu in safe mode.
