I have been watching and am amazed at the courage and determination of the competitors. It is fantastic that a person with no arms can swim and overcome such a disability.
good on them all.

Anybody watching and enjoying the paralympics ?? I've been amazed at some of the results and the efforts that the competitors put into it, great stuff
Then they get George Osbourne, the man who's cut disability benefits in the uk to hand out medals
Chancellor George Osborne was booed when he took part in a Paralympic medal ceremony on Monday night.
The Tory cabinet minister appeared on the big screen before a medal presentation in front of an 80,000-strong crowd in the Olympic Stadium.
He laughed nervously as jeers rang out around the packed arena, as he prepared to give gold to Tunisia’s T38 400m champion Mohamed Farhat Chida.
The Government has been under fire from disabled rights groups for awarding a contract to assess “fit for work” assessments to Paralympic sponsor Atos.
Rallies have been staged by activists in the past few days in protests at tests which have been described as "damaging and distressing".
A clip of the awkward moment quickly became a viral hit on social media, with George Osborne’s name trending worldwide.
In contrast, former Labour Prime Minister and Chancellor Gordon Brown was enthusiastically cheered when he took part in a medal ceremony in the aquatic centre.

If you knew how many people in the Uk abuse the disability system, you would not be surprised that the government wants to do something about it. If you are unemployed/don't want to work in the Uk, then the easiest thing to do under the last government was to go on disability. It got you more payments and was not as strict as true unemployment benefit.
However, it is amazing what these people can do and they certainly shows some of their able bodied counterparts how it should be done.

Absolutely, didn't think I would, but I'm enjoying it better than the Olympics, mainly bacause of the lack of massive egos. I enjoy the ABC commentary as well. Watching the replay of the basketball a minute ago, skillfull stuff, Two stood out, the Aussie capt., & the Polish player Filipski, my wife & I were actually barracking for both players. Have to hand Great Britain a big pat on the back for the Olympics, & paralympics, well done ! Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
The "Gliders" have just beaten America by one point in the ladies basketball
What a great match that was, they really deserve gold![]()
any sport on TV gets my attention and i have enjoyed an hour or two every night, to me they are athlete's at the top of there chosen sport, no different to athlete's at the Olympics. it does annoy me the comments about inspirational, courage, epic road to gold, how do they manage etc etc etc they choose to be out there and are doing whats required to not only compete but in some cases be the best
oh some of them have ego's....just like other sportsman, i'm OK with that and good on em if they stick it up to us
oh yeah , the commentary has been a breath of fresh air
Watched two teams of blind players playing a soccer match, it was unbelievable, entertaining stuff!!!![]()
