I like the way the marshals stand next to the poles to stop the cars driving over them, and when that no longer works they threaten to hit the cars with the poles (about 1.25 min)

Lada Niva are utter utter poo.

A friend had one. Drum brakes all round that were always spongy and not very effective, heavy and under powered.

Top Gear did a review many years ago and the Niva had slower acceleration than an Indian made diesel motorbike. :0

Lada Niva's do not have a good local reputation, not as good or reliable as the Gas, a bit like a county vers puma thing.

Toymotors are what the UN and west drive so they are out of the running, POOTROLS are King, followed by mitzys. Gwagons ( black) are the reserve of the maifia

During our err, ummm, EXCURSIONS into Angola in the late 70s and 80s, we captured hundreds of GAZ 63s, 66s and 69s.

I wonder where they went? Hmmm will have to ask around.
