Look what I caught last week

I was fishing off of Fraser Island last week and caught this beauty.

Length 2.45m
Weight 27kg

Caught on a Shimano 6500B reel with 50lb Braid.

It took about 20 minutes to reel in. It really was a complete fluke that it even hooked on. We were floating a big slice of mac tuna to hopefully catch a mackerel but when it hooked on it was a big surprise. Once we had it in the boat we tried to re-swim the fish but unfortunately it didn't survive the catch. So we filleted it and are currently eating it.

Its actually very good eating, sort of in between fish and chicken.

i am not a big fish eater at all, but i love dart
