I suggust you get the dealer to check the noises. The steering clicking could be a bolt not properly tight.
Hello Everyone,
I finally took the leap and got myself a brand new D4. It's been a joy from day one - however 6 weeks down the track I have started to pick up some strange noises from the steering.
It started with some 'popping' or 'clicking' noises when turning the wheel. This has now disappeared and I get intermittent soft 'pops' / 'clicks' mostly when applying the brakes (not turning the wheel) or when crossing uneven road surfaces (bumps you hardly feel at all). The weird thing about it - it occurs and then goes away for days - impossible to replicate when you want to.
In addition I have some 'plastic crackling' somewhere beneath the steering - this only seems to appear when the car inside is warming up - this I wouldn't usually mind - but with a brand new set of wheels at this ticket price you somewhat expect it won't.
I would be grateful for all similar experiences - opinions!

Took a few visits to the shop - turns out the steering track rod end nut was loose and the bolt was about to fall out.
Not the end of the problems (now seemingly unfixable steering wobble)...

Warranty issue. I think something may have got bent when it was loose. Need a replacement part? They should also calibrate and do a four wheel aligment when done.
