Would this work? (Rear fog lamp to work lamp)

I should have my hands on a new Puma 110SW in a couple of weeks and have had an idea for a while now of replacing the rear red fog lamp with a duplicate white reverse light.

The idea being I use the fog lamp switch (with a dash light indicator) to activate the now work/camp lights on the rear. I believe this would be useful in negotiating tracks at night, closing gates, and a few other uses

I then want both 'reverse' lamps to work on reverse and with the fog lamp. Can I just 'jump' the two lamps together in parallel?

Anyone see any problems with this arrangement? I understand that the fog lamp will only turn on with low beam but I don't see this as too much of an issue.

Is there a legal requirement for fog lamps?

I have replaced my fog lamp with clear lens. Works a treat, makes backing the trailer into the driveway much easier at night.

I know that on a 130 the wiring loom at the rear has both sockets on both sides for reverse and fog lights. If this is true as well for the 110, simply unplug the fog from its connector and plug it into the reverse socket. Or you could do what I have done, buy 1 x fog, 1 x reverse light, and mount them on each side that lacks said light, so you end up with 1x reverse/fog on both sides.
