    puma/defender part compatability

    quick question.

will parts from defenders of old fit the new puma defenders?

    eg:
    *- interior cargo barrier
    *- bull bar
    *- side steps
    *- tow bar

I assume roof racks should be compatible....

any hints tips appreciated... very interested to know...

*- interior cargo barrier - Wheel well changed in 02, so may be an issue
*- bull bar - AC grill may get in the way
*- side steps - No Problem
*- tow bar - ? Not too sure, could get into a world of insurance/ADR issues here...

*- interior cargo barrier - Seats are taller, wheel well redesigned, very, very unlikely
*- bull bar - Td5 bar will fit. Tdi may be a little tight.
*- side steps - No Problem
*- tow bar - No unless along range tank is fitted, then it might.

    Puma / Defender

I have fitted the ARB towbar off my 2001 defender to my 2012 puma, however both have had long ranger tanks fitted to them. The bull/winch bar is a bit more of a problem as the grill on the new puma is further foward than the older model and will require extending foward 65mm to clear the grill. The longranger tanks both the main and the 35 litre also fitted in with minor adjustments to the fuel gauge sender/siphon pipe. As others have said there is a difference with the rear seats and side wells.
