    Anthony West second in Moto2

What a race and what riding skill of West!!
His knowledge of tyre management was what allowed him to gain a gap of 4 seconds in 4 laps against the other riders that were racing for the 4 position.
He even managed to get to the top and come second after a good try by the 2012 world champion.
West does not have a good chassis setup and this only allows him to perform well when the ability of the rider is the main factor in a particular race.
He have done very well in the wet coming 3rd in Sepang and yesterday in Phillip Island were the bike setup it is not critical he was second.
I hope that he get a better bike or team next year.

I think the main thing is that West and the team are starting to understand and improve the setup of the Speed Up bike they swaped to part way through the year.

The gap between West and the 'factory' Speedmaster team has shrunk to the point there is typically little between West and Andrea Iannone (won twice 2012 and off to Pramec - Ducati MotoGP 2013). So given some fortune Anthony is still in with a chance for the last race in Spain, although I image Marc Marquez will probably be untouchable there.

    Well done Westy!
Best 'old bloke' in Moto2 by far.

Its no coincidence since his new sponsor came on board there is much more $$ to throw at the bike,,

plus he wanted to prove a point about his dry skills,,

plus who doesnt want to get on the podium of their home GP??
