Do the door hinges have captive nuts?

I'm going to remove the big, ugly truck mirrors from the doors of my new 130 and fit long-arm standard type mirrors that are on their way from Paddocks. The new mirrors are attached by a screw from the back of the hinge, so I need to unscrew the top hinges from the door and swing them forward. Do I need to remove the door trims and get to a nut inside the door to do this, or are the hinge nuts captive?

Hi Pod, I think there is a thread or two that mention doing this. If you haven't done so, try Search. One of the threads includes stuff about Trayon Campers, IIRC. I think the nuts are not captive and need to be wedged into place or they will fall to the bottom of the door space. Cheers, 130man.

No, they aren't captive () but you can get to them with a small open ender and IIRC just pop a few of the Christmas tree fasteners off at the hinge side and bottom, as you will drop at least one nut

(I had to tighten the bolts for the mirror about a month ago)

Mission accomplished. No nuts dropped. The blu-tak idea is a ripper, I'm sure that left to my own devices I would have come up with something far more complicated.
