    eton trutrac question

hi all was thinking of installing the eton true trac limited slip to the front of my 98 110 defender then i started thinking again. mmm highly unusual anyway
my front diff is due for rebuild 320000ks when travelling through desert for instance wouldnt the truetrac constantly work your cvs and center diff harder then for instance a selectable locker because there is more constant load on the cvs or is my line off thinking off trac allso is there a replacement diff thats stronger without going to a full locker got a winch on the front and maxidrive upgraded axles all round locker in the rear
any ideas would be appreciated cheers

Jack McNamara make a 4 gear open centre diff to replace the 2 gear Land Rover one, or you can use the Tru-Trac, or the Ashcroft ATB which is a nicer, stronger design (IMO) or a full locker.

I wouldn't worry about extra load on the driveline with a torque biasing centre.
To my way of thinking it'll lessen shock loads as you are less likely to spin up a wheel and then have it grab and have something go bang (unless it gets airborne...)

I have the Ashcroft ATB with standard CV's and half shafts. My CV's and half shafts have 355,000 + kms on them and I give my truck a hard time on the track. There has been a few occasions that, in the heat of the moment, i found myself bouncing the spinning front wheel on the ground. Nothing given way so far.

If you have upgraded half shafts and stock CV's unless you are keen on spinning the wheel in the air and dropping it to earth again you should see many years of service without trouble with either a TruTrac or ATB. The torque bias is about 70% wheel without traction to 30% wheel with traction.
