    Puma rear wheel seal

Had a wonderful, though hot, day out at Cape Arnhem today. Halfway there I noticed a small issue with the back left wheel. This image was taken an hour or so later.

When I got home it hadn't changed so tomorrow I'll pull the wheel off and check everything. Already checked that the diff breather is clear.

Anyway does anyone know if a 300Tdi rear bearing seal will fit the Puma or are they different?

Also where could I possibly get parts from in the next couple of days? Anywhere in the country or even the UK, just got a feeling most parts places will be closed this week.

Hi Derek! Most likely the rubber cap has had a fit and either come off due to heat, (Yes, a blocked breather can cause this, too) or is just split. At least you know the axle splines are getting lubed.
300 Tdi inner hub seal is the same, RTC3511 (preferred) or FTC4785
Hope all is well, regards to you both

Thanks Justin. I thought they were and I've got these

The cap looks OK, but I'll know more when pull the wheel off.

All's well up here, just wish it would rain and cool things down below mid-high 30's and too much sun

Well pulled the wheel off for a better look now that its overcast and no longer backing hot. Also checked the diff level and it was good.

The cap was severely cracked and I have now discovered I don't have any spare caps left so I pinched one of the Tdi and put the stuffed on in its place. Off to eBay etc to find some more.

There was a small amount of oil/grease fluid - 2 drops - that came out after I took off the cap. I'm going to see what happens over the next day or so. If I get more coming out then I'll get the seal replaced - just too damed hot to do it myself!
