Towing a trailer with a motorcycle

    Just like the thread title.

Who has done it? Was it good? Was it bad? Would you do it again?

I did it once years ago, but overloaded the trailer and didn't enjoy it a bit. I then sold the trailer to my brother-in-law who has been using it steadily ever since. Been offered one now for next to nothing and I am tempted to try it again.

You hit the nail on the head. Don't overload.

I towed a smallish trailer for years. First behind a Honda VF 750f, found it a bit small so changed to a BMW R100 GS. Now that was a great tow bike (sorry I'm talking late 1980's).

Just don't cut corners, allow longer braking distances. Keep maintenance to your trailer wheel bearings in particular as you don't want a wheel to seize or worse come off.

    Cheers

That's what your Land Rover is for - towing trailers.
Pack less and enjoy your motorbike with just its two wheels.

A few acquaintances with trailers love them, nobody I know has had bad experiences with them if set up correctly.

When I wanted my CX500 transported the fella had a bike (carrying) trailer, towed by his VFR700 !!!!
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    A CX500, couldn't you afford a Guzzi

Jeff I followed a guy once with a trailer, seemed to handle everything quite well, we were on the old Highway near Taree and hootin along.

I ended up buying the trailer. I took it away to the Alpine Rally, where it had a bit of everything, freeway, windy mountain road, smooth dirt, rough dirt then fast corners. It was ok, but I don't think I will keep it long, everything I took, I could have fitted in my sidecar. If I can't fit it, I probably don't need it.
