M R Automotive at Redcliffe should be open tommorrow - 3284 6688
Sorry guys and girls did a quick search with no luck.
Just limped into Ipswich in my 110 to a mates house and I'm after, I'm guessing either a repair or a replacement turbo????? (2009 Defender Puma 2.4 motor)
Goggle has a lot to chose from, can you direct me to the place to go.
Can anyone recommend someone nearby in Brisbane?
I'd like some day service if possible.
I'd expect a few businesses will be closed over the Christmas break...
Thanks for your help in advance.

Or give Dave, blknight.aus on here a PM,he may be able to eyeball it for you and work out what is wrong.
He is at Ipswich, but may be away.
MR are the go,they are a long way from Ipswich, but worth the drive.
What is it that has happend that has made you think the Turbo has broken down?
Pumas arent that old Im very surprised to hear that you need a turbo.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
I had a squeal from under the bonnet and a lot of black smoke out the exhaust from over fuelling.
Replaced split top intercooler hose which improved squeal somewhat but had no evidence of exhaust leak at this time.
Went to the toowoomba dealership and MR Automotive which couldn't really nut out my problem without more time but MR said most likely cause was the electronic box attached to the turbo (comes as 1 item) so changed turbo and fixed broken stud on turbo. Problem appeared to be fixed with a slight reduction in power.
Anyway made it to Fraser Island for a shortened 5 days with no mishaps with the family, on return home to sydney problems started to reappear loss of power exhaust leak replaced turbo exhaust stud again, which got us a little further down the road until we pulled into Uralla pulling my hair out,and changed a few other items bottom intercooler hose, air filter, cleaned the air flow sensor and mass airflow sensor with sensor cleaner.
Still no improvement but now had a hard fault, engine management light on. -limit now 25k's with the trailer.
long story short- trucked home with NRMA premium care (first time used well worth it)
4 hrs in work shop at Euro Prestige in Mulgrave with Mark. -problem found the green and white trace wires into the turbo elec plug were broken.
This could explain split intercooler hose from over boosting earlier.
Wires reterminated on pins and all is back to normal full power in the rocket ship.
The wires must have been intermittently contacting as I'd been been on the box at L/R Toowoomba, MR Auto, & Sunshine Coast 4x4 at Forrest Glen.
Thanks Mark for nutting the problem out!!!
Anyway now have a spare turbo, (expensive trip) & a reminder to all that Chrissy is not the time to have transport issues.
thanks for the update.......a handy bit of info for puma owners
btw...blknight has probably ignored this thread considering it ford related
Well after a lot of grief,
Two broken wires just behind the plug to the Turbo electronic control box, were intermittently making and breaking,
There is a service Bulletin out replacingthe plug, splicing in a new plug with a decent amount of slack.
Anyone need a Turbo
