Can you "zero" the fuel consumption.

It seems that the fuel consumption is on a vehicle lifetime basis. (MY12 SDV6 D4 SE)

Is there a way I can zero the consumption at the begining of a trip?

At the moment after a period of city cycle or after towing heavy trailers it takes about 500Km or more to get some idea of the fuel economy on that particular trip.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

When you reset trip A or trip B you reset the fuel consumption.

Doesn't seem to happen on mine, must investigate further!

There may be a setting for this in the driver information module, under trip computer settings.

This is odd. Are you saying the the fuel average is the same for both Trip A and Trip B?

When I rest trip B after each refuel it goes blank and does not actually show an average fuel consumption for about 5 km, then it pops up with a large figure that falls rapidly..

I'd actually be interested in having a fuel consumption average that does not reset, at least on one of the trip meters. Maybe I'll have apoke around the settings to try an replicate your problem!

Ive heard that it is al reset when serviced as well, don't know if thati s true or not.

And one more thing, are you actually resetting the trip meter? When I first did it, I held the scroll button in on the flicker stalk as the manual says and eventually a message came up on the message center saying "Resetting Trip B" so I let go and it did not reset. You need to hold the button in until the rest completes and the message goes away.

The "Trip" data for A, B & Auto are independent of each other. The trip distance Max's out at 9,999.9 but the fuel rate seems to continue.

Diana - is this what you do? Press and release the "i" button on the stalk until L/100km is displayed, then hold it in for 5 seconds and it will say something like "resetting".

Thanks guys, I have never been pressing the button long enough. Tried an instant push and a couple of seconds but obviously never waited long enough.

    Very happy now!

Lotza, have you calculated your average over a full tank or two to see if the readout is correct?

Mine is at least 1 to 1.5l/100 out.

And the stealers recon they cannot fix it
